Concrete dual-host setup with service platform, social service network, service learning tools and participants

The Servomat is, just like its bigger cousin Crowdserving, a Social Service Network portal interface to the SPACE service platform. Its main goal is to provide an isolated environment for students to learn about creating and offering distributable and tradeable services on marketplaces. Custom features for the use in academic environments are:

  • Automated creation of student user accounts from immatriculation lists, e.g., jExam.
  • Task-oriented practical project panel. This application defines minimum requirements which services need to fulfil at a certain point in time. The panel is integrated with automatic web service checks and with ReviewBoard for collaborative comments from students. The panel has been created in the student team assignment Komplexpraktikum Servomat 2.0.
  • Use of calendar and comments features of Noosfero for communication with students.
  • In the future: Installation support and/or hosted mode for use in other institutions.
